What's Your Prognosis?

"What's your prognosis?" I am frequently asked this question. I know it is asked with caring, but I haven't an answer.

Let's get serious. In a perfect world I will be healed, in a less perfect world things may go wrong. Do I know? NO! Do the doctors know? NO! Does cancer follow rules? NO!

A scan today may be clean. A scan down the road may not. That is why my significant others and I take one day at a time. It is why I encourage you and your significant others to do the same. Enjoy! None of us know what tomorrow will bring.

Relish, love and live for today.

  1. Dear Leah,
What's your prognosis? Someone could easily ask me the same question. You are right, noone knows what tomorrow will bring. And in reality each of us have a prognosis. It's that question that has no answer, has no guarantees. My entire life I have lived only for today because frankly there were too many times when I feared to dream. The big difference since running along the railway track while you and Paul you ride the train, is that with each today I look at every passing blade of grass, each flower, each tree, and each cloud with different eyes. I listen with different ears and I touch with different arms. I feel so confident that you will be a long time survivor. That you will be there to teach so many how to endure the journey. To give hope and inspiration to women through your life. My mantra through my one day at time Leah has always been, this too shall pass. And I believe this too shall pass. And then we can all join hands with you and celebrate your future prognosis!
    Love you!

  3. oops, I DO know how to spell joyous. I couldn't bear to leave that spelled wrong and my tech savvy daughter in law said once it's posted, you can't change it...
    Love you, Leah!
