What's Important?

Simple things become complex at times. They lost my MUGA scan results on Friday so I had to go back in on Monday. Yes...I'm sure my urine glowed after a double dose of radioactive juice. I couldn't have my next chemo until they had results of MUGA. It was a circle of idiocracy. My heart is less than it was three months ago, but still strong. So another dose was administered. Radiation was a test run today. In confidence to those who read, I am claustrophic. I am fine if I close my eyes and find my happy place (my happy place is our garden...get your mind out of the gutter). Good luck to those around me...I stink! No deodorant for seven weeks.....
My heart beats...my husband's heart beats...my son's heart beats...am thinking of Sonny and Cher "The Beat Goes On". I use to think a clean house was important (no I have not turned into a slob)...but what's really important is that the "beat goes on".

  2. My friend,
Each step along this journey you are taking is a moment in doing things and seeing things differently. Facing and enduring moments if someone had told you a year ago you had to you might have told them where to go.and NO WAY! Look at what you can do! And look what you are learning about yourself. You know now you can do anything you want to, you know how to go to that happy place and to face those fears we all have. Imagine the things you will do a year from now. Bungee jumping, paragliding and summiting Mt. Rainier. You are strong and you are brave and you are an inspiration to all of us.

  3. I am so proud of you, Leah. You are facing things that you didn't ever dream you would have to face - and you are still finding positive thoughts and humor. I know this has been horrible for you and Paul and Brian. I think of you constantly and wonder if I would be so brave! Enjoy that beautiful garden - whenever and wherever you can. Hope getting ready for school is going well. I love you very much!

  4. I miss you two, and tucker, and pywhaket (spelling? probably not) and your beautiful garden with all that love. I'm sorry we haven't been over since our trip to Vegas!! Brian and I had an absolute blast in Vegas, i'm sorry we didn't take very many pictures to show you guys though...and half of the pictures we did get around to are now safely hidden away. School is about to start for you and Paul =) is Paul as excited as you are? My parents weren't as enthusiastic as you but they're getting back into the swing of a new school year. Love you guys and see you soon! =)
